WHO WE ARE

Evana Network is a movement of pastors and churches who want to see God's kingdom come through the power of Jesus Christ. Our common ground is an evangelical Anabaptist theology, as articulated in our network covenant. Our common vision is to see Jesus bring transformation to our local communities.

HOW WE STARTED

In January 2015, more than 170 Mennonite and Anabaptist leaders, representing 75 congregations, met to pray and discern about forming a new Anabaptist/Mennonite ministry network with a strong evangelical commitment. During two days of sharing and listening, several common themes emerged: a desire to move into mission together, for empowered and accountable leadership, for renewed focus on the centrality of Jesus Christ and the Great Commission which defined the early Anabaptists, and renewed emphasis on church planting, community engagement, and leadership development.

VISION

Our vision is to see local churches focus on community transformation by deeply engaging with the local community; seeing God's heart of love for broken people; and responding with healing presence, radical hospitality, and strategic compassion.

  • We organize regional networks with partner churches for community engagement and church planting.
  • We partner with existing evangelical Anabaptist institutions (denominations, conferences, districts, mission agencies, universities, etc.) to facilitate a shared evangelical Anabaptist witness and to generate movement toward community transformation.
  • We facilitate learning communities for leadership development.
  • We host an online community to connect and resource individuals on a regional and global level.
  • We develop regional and national training events to network and resource leaders.
  • We provide credentials for pastors of congregations without other affiliations.

WHAT ANCHORS US

Evana provides a home for men and women seeking to covenant together around the primacy of Jesus, obedience to Scripture, and bold evangelism. Our covenant is based on the Confession of Faith in a Mennonite Perspective, 1995. The four C shapes in our logo point to the four C's that are primary to our identity.
